Seniors Win Big with Online Sweepstakes; Now it's Easier

If anyone deserves a break today, it's us, the seniors of this great country. This is one way that I do it. I register for online sweepstakes and every so often I win; sometimes small things and some times big things, real big. Stay with me, it's now easier than you think and doesn't require a lot of work anymore thanks to the Internet. And, I hear some of you asking, "Is it safe". The answer is of course, or I wouldn't be doing it.

Companies are advertising differently for you dollar today, to get your business. So real, honest to goodness companies like Campbells, and Ford Motor Company offer sweepstakes online that don't cost you anything except a little bit of your time.

Every week I choose at least 5 legit companies who are offering a sweepstakes, every week there is a different theme such as "win a car", "win a vacation", "win a motor home", etc. I find the best ones that don't require you to fill out laborious forms, complete surveys, and all of that. You just enter your brief contact information and hit submit. Then forget about it. If you win some weeks down the road, they will contact you. If not, don't worry about it as it didn't take you any time to do this. But, do a few every week consistently and it may take you a few months or a year, but by putting in this little effort consistently and persistently, just like the others, you'll find yourself on an all expense paid vacation on some gorgeous beach, or hotel, driving a new car, or winning a brand new Fender electric guitar that you can learn to play or give to your grandkid.

Buying a Guaranteed Retirement; Is it Possible?

As a licensed insurance agent for MN/WI, I work with seniors every week. The bottom line (basically the last line in the article) is that seniors should consider buying annuities and doing it as soon as possible but you may "win" or "lose" depending on how long you live.

Insurance has always been about "protection" and having it in case one needs it. It's the same with annuities; you may end up paying a large sum and not living to use it, or you may not pay as much as the pay out if you live longer. For my money, I'd rather be paying in and have it in case I live longer than not have it. My attitude is that I would like to live a long time and statistics show that people are living longer; so the odds of living longer are there. Plan. Hmmmmmmm, that was probably the first "one word" sentence I've ever written. It is true: "Brevity is the soul of wit".

I have had many young people state that they don't want to get (or become) old. First, they don't give me a year, or definition of what "old" is. And when I ask, they are thinking of someone "old and in a rocking chair"; that kind of mentality. I explain that I plan to live to be 120 years old and be healthy and fit. (You, dear reader may not share my desire). But it is certainly attainable to be 100 years old and have great eye sight and still drive, travel, have great strength and vitality.

Well, I may have gotten a bit beyond the Yahoo article but the point is that people are living longer and buying an annuity to assist in having an income, is a real option. Dollar Stores can be Great Source for Creative Gifts

The secret of using items from the dollar store is using your own creativity. Know the recipeint's hobbies, loves, and tastes and then add your own "something" that makes it exclusive to them and from you. Here's something that I did:

For my son’s birthday card, I found a “Superman Diary” at the dollar store with a colorful Superman figure on the cover. He’s a grown adult but loves Superman “anything”; I’m thinking because his last name starts with “S” and the Superman symbol looks really cool! Anyway, I thought this was a creative “birthday card” that has use for a longer time than just a year. 

Next, I wrote birthday greetings on the inside page with my quickly written poem: 

Here’s a book to write your goals,

Then choose to work on just 3 of those.

So next year, the “older” you

Will be wiser, wealthier and happier too! 

So dear reader, I am writing this because I thought you might enjoy the idea of using this idea for a birthday card for someone in your life (it’s actually “cheaper” than  most cards and will be “seen” more; but if mailed may cost a bit more). And secondly, my intent is to remind you (and myself) to write goals, choosing 3 to work on so we are constantly in control of how we want our future to become!
